About Me

Pettibloggery
I'm Justin Humphreys, a writer, curator, film historian, memorabilia broker, cartoonist, and narrator. I didn't find writing--it found me. I've had 6 1/2 books published, including Taschen's LIFE Hollywood and the award-winning George Pal: Man of Tomorrow. My work appears in magazines and newspapers in America, France, and Canada including True West, Rue Morgue, L'Ecran Fantastique, Filmfax, and Video Watchdog. I have lectured on film and animation at universities, film festivals, and screenings in the United States, Hungary, and Czechia. My work was quoted and cited in Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein: A Mel Brooks Book," among others. I specialize in curatorial work involving rare and unique film, TV, and music memorabilia. I have catalogued and/or sold significant portions of the estates of Maureen O'Hara, Charlton Heston, Natalie Wood, Tod Browning, George Pal, and others. Feel free to contact me about privately brokering memorabilia and artwork or for a consultation about your artifacts.
